Old Business:
- SRVM Club Combat Demo at Lewiston for the Lewiston-Clark R/C Modelers was held on June 21. Members that traveled to the club were Bob A. Todd H. and son and Jerry H. Jr. and son. All had a great time. The R/C club appreciated our club coming and are excited about getting started. Our thanks to Bob A, Todd H. and Jerry H. Jr. for going. Bob A. said that that club has gone through the government hoops that we are facing for handicap access requirements at the flying field. He gained new information.
- Fun Fly on June 28. Jerry H. Jr. gave a report on the event. It was very exciting and exacting for all. 15 flyers participated listed as follows:
| Bob M. | Dave C. | Jim S. | Richard P. | Jerry H. Jr. |
| Jerry H. Sr. | Jerry J.. | Todd H.& son | Lynn H. | Chris B. |
| Jeff D. | Ken S. | Bob A. | Carl G. | |
The club received $100 profit from the pilot fee's. Over 30 people were on hand including the pilots. The winners were 1st place, Jerry H. Jr., 2nd place, Carl G., 3rd place, Jim S.
- Operation Matterhorn - July 26. Lynn H. had a pre-meeting for the event at 1730. He is a great organizer and will be supplying more written info and a map of the cross country fly. Generally: Early registration is important, fee of $7.50, $10 for late registration, pilot meeting at 0730 and start 0800. Breakfast for pilots and support people from 0800 on. Help on Friday and Saturday is much needed. Call or e-mail Lynn H. to volunteer or find out what needed at 208-365-5264 or idhyslop@bigskytel.com.
- Flight Simulator status: Scott P. and Jeff D.
New Business:
- Lewiston - Clarkston Modeler ADA (handicap) accommodations:
- H/C ramp parking can be crushed, compacted material.
- Slabs for tables done.
- Porta-potties rented for $60 per month.
- Maintenance co-ordination and schedule.
Bob A indicated it is necessary to indentify areas of maintenance and designate individuals to be responsible for them. The idea is that these individuals will be responsible for identifing the work needed to be done, requesting help from the membership and seeing that the work is done in a timely manner. This should prevent any one individual from becoming over burden and having to do all the work. The areas of maintenance were outlined and volunteers stepped forward as follows:
| Watering system | - Bob M. and Richard P. |
| Gopher control | - Bob M. |
| Weed control | - Dave C. |
| Mowing | - Dave C. |
It is asked to please be responsive to calls for help from these guys when they ask.
- Other Business:
- Safety - Safety is a vital issue. The Safety Officer, Richard P., cannot be everwhere to enforce safe flying. Many infractions were noted during the Fun Fly. Most were caused by the wind or other uncontrollable things. It is important that when another member notices the safety violation that the flyer, who may not realize it, be informed of the safety violation and report it to the keeper of the scores if it is a scored event. Rarely do flyers intentionally violate safety or fly zones, but we need to be careful and be self-policing. Also the 1st Aid Kit box should be unlocked whenever the field is being used for quick access in case of an accident.
- Lynn H. motioned for approval for $50 of clubs funds to be used toward the prizes and a one year free membership be awarded to the top flyer in the Matterhorn event on July 26. The motion was 2nd by Richard P. The motion carried.
Next meeting Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 1930 Flying Field.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Lynn H. and 2nd by Richard P. The motion carried.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jerry Haines, Sr.
