Minutes - December 6, 2008

The meeting was opened by President Bob A. at 1955.

Bob thanked the Mowing, Water, Gopher and Weed Control committee members for their successful efforts of maintaining the flying field this year.

Bob then reviewed some of the clubs flying events of this year which were:

  1. The January 1st Frozen Finger Fly
  2. Winter indoor flying at the Ontario Middle School Gym
  3. Pylon race
  4. Fun Fly # 1
  5. Cross Country Fly
  6. Fun Fly # 2
  7. Combat Meet.

Bob then acknowledged and thanked out going club officers Jerry Jackson, Steve Brown and Richard Pitcher for a great job and help. He then introduced and installed the new club officers -

President Ken S. then conducted the Christmas Gift Exchange. It was done soberly and emotions were kept under control by almost everybody.

The Christmas party ended at 2130.

The next club event will be the 2009 Frozen Finger Fly on January 1st at the field. Come and partcipate and win a place in history and a genuine SRVM Frozen Finger Fly Certificate (suitable for framing). Requirements to win: You need to take off, fly and land at least once (reguardless of the weather or conditions). More information will be following. Last year's was a great time for the brave ones.

Next club meeting - January 7, 2009, 1930 at Horizon Hobbies.

Thanks to Jerry Jackson for providing these notes to me. I was at my grandson's graduation from the U.S. Marine Boot Camp in San Diego, CA. We now have a U.S. Marine in the family.
