Minutes - April 1, 2009

The meeting was opened by President Ken Simmons at 1930.

It was moved and seconded to approve last month’s minutes.

Treasurer's Report: Bob A.

  1. Balance in check book $2630.58.
  2. We made 44.75 from the Swap Meet
  3. Some memberships came in and 237.00 cash was put in the cash box at the airport.
  4. There has been one expenditure to AMA for 90.00.
  5. Bob Armstrong is one signer for the account and Ken Simmons will be added.
  6. It was moved and seconded to accept the treasures report.
  7. There are thirty paid up members at this time.
Old Business:
  1. Committee Report:
    1. Weed Control: Dave Castleberry will try to apply the poison before the coming rain tomorrow.
    2. Safety: Jerry H. Jr. - Bob Armstrong smelled his electric helicopter too close and received blade rash to his nose.
  2. The gate combination is changed and will be in effect from now on.
  3. Swap Meet: Most were sellers and very few buyers. We may have another one in September, perhaps in conjunction with the Open House on Sept. 26th.
  4. Idaho Power Line Location: Dale said we need to check to see what the effects of operating our models in the vicinity of a 500 KV line would be. We can not say it would be a problem if we do not know what the effects would be. Ken Simmons said he would check with AMA to see if they have any information about operating models around a high power line.
New Business:
  1. Clean Up Day: April 18th, 9:00 AM. Jerry is coordinating. And is asking for volunteers.
    1. Mow Parking Area
    2. Fill gopher mounds
    3. Trap or poison gophers
    4. Spray weeds
    5. Clear Grass from around sprinkler heads
    6. Clean out house
    7. Pile and burn weeds
    8. Sweep pit area
    9. Empty out shed
    10. Water system – Prime and check for leaks
    11. Install timer batteries
    12. Program timer
    13. Service mower
    Bring gas string trimmer and fuel, Shovel, wheel barrow or broom, lunch and airplane to fly afterward.
  2. Water wheel needs to be fixed before water comes in the ditch.
  3. AMA insurance is required for flying at our field.
  4. The meeting was adjourned at 8:14
