Minutes - April 1, 2009
The meeting was opened by President Ken Simmons at 1930.
It was moved and seconded to approve last month’s minutes.
Treasurer's Report: Bob A.
- Balance in check book $2630.58.
- We made 44.75 from the Swap Meet
- Some memberships came in and 237.00 cash was put in the cash box at the airport.
- There has been one expenditure to AMA for 90.00.
- Bob Armstrong is one signer for the account and Ken Simmons will be added.
- It was moved and seconded to accept the treasures report.
- There are thirty paid up members at this time.
Old Business:
- Committee Report:
- Weed Control: Dave Castleberry will try to apply the poison before the coming rain tomorrow.
- Safety: Jerry H. Jr. - Bob Armstrong smelled his electric helicopter too close and received blade rash to his nose.
- The gate combination is changed and will be in effect from now on.
- Swap Meet: Most were sellers and very few buyers. We may have another one in September, perhaps in conjunction with the Open House on Sept. 26th.
- Idaho Power Line Location: Dale said we need to check to see what the effects of operating our models in the vicinity of a 500 KV line would be. We can not say it would be a problem if we do not know what the effects would be. Ken Simmons said he would check with AMA to see if they have any information about operating models around a high power line.
New Business:
- Clean Up Day: April 18th, 9:00 AM. Jerry is coordinating. And is asking for volunteers.
- Mow Parking Area
- Fill gopher mounds
- Trap or poison gophers
- Spray weeds
- Clear Grass from around sprinkler heads
- Clean out house
- Pile and burn weeds
- Sweep pit area
- Empty out shed
- Water system – Prime and check for leaks
- Install timer batteries
- Program timer
- Service mower
Bring gas string trimmer and fuel, Shovel, wheel barrow or broom, lunch and airplane to fly afterward.
- Water wheel needs to be fixed before water comes in the ditch.
- AMA insurance is required for flying at our field.
